About Us

Doors of Change, also known as Photocharity, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization (Fed ID # 770606859) that has been helping save homeless youth in San Diego since July 2001. During this time we have worked in partnership with San Diego Youth Services’ Storefront shelter to place over 1,800 homeless youth ages 12-17 in long-term safe housing.

Doors of Change operates several programs to help youth overcome homelessness, including weekly outreach walks, weekly music and art programs to build trust and teach useful skills, and a long-term, comprehensive self-sufficiency program.

Doors Of Change has raised over $2,600,000 in 14 years.
We have enjoyed great success thanks to the support of major recording artists and other celebrities who have donated autographed collectibles for us to use in fundraising. Signed memorabilia has been donated to Photocharity by The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band, Billy Joel, Elton John, The Who, Carlos Santana, B.B. King, The Eagles, James Taylor, Steve Winwood, Dave Matthews, Tommy Castro, Jewell, and others. Some items are pre-sold prior to our benefit events. View items for auction here.

About our original founding name
Photocharity is rooted in the relationships that founder Jeffrey Sitcov has made while photographing major recording artists. These music legends trusted Jeffrey and started to sign guitars and keyboards to raise money to help San Diego homeless youth. Billy Joel was the first Music Angel. Soon after, Elton John, Carlos Santana, B.B. King, Bruce Springsteen and many others started to sign. To date Photocharity has raised over $750,000 in signed music memorabilia sales to help save San Diego homeless youth.

B.B. King was the most consistent Music Angel supporter for over 10 years. Sales of his signed guitars raised $165,000 to support Photocharity’s mission. In October 2007 we honored him for his generosity at a special musical concert here in San Diego. Six national headliners performed and 4,000 people attended the truly amazing concert. Performers included George Thorogood, Kenny Wayne Shepard, Taj Mahal, Paul Rodgers,Tommy Castro and Blind Boys of Alabama who stole the show. More than $100,000 net was raised to help save more homeless youth in San Diego.
